How do you explain that Jesus drank wine and yet a pentecostal cannot?

It has been the consistent history of IPHC, including most other American Pentecostal churches, to be opposed to drinking alcohol, including during communion, mainly because of the abuse patterns in American culture. Jesus drank wine in a culture where the water supply was suspect as well as in a broader cultural framework that tended to place restrictions so that drunkenness and its attending abuses where not accepted. IPHC continues to maintain that we provide a better witness to our world by holding the position we hold, as a practical statement of holy living.
