Does God speak to us today? Is the Bible a never ending story?

Yes, we do hear from God today through the Bible and through the Holy Spirit speaking through apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Let me refer you to several good works you can order through Amazon.com or your local Christian bookstore: Surprised by the Voice of God by Jack Deere (Zondervan Publishing House) and Plugged In To God's Power by Doug Beacham (Charisma House Publishers).

There are prophets who are hearing from God today. The revelation is not a new Bible but is the way the Holy Spirit takes the revelation in the Bible and applies it to our contemporary situation. The way we keep from being called insane and locked up is by testing the prophetic word by the Bible, the testimony of two thousand years of church history and theology, and the wisdom of fellow Christians who speak into our lives.

The Bible is a never-ending story. I point this out to you in two ways. First, the book of Acts, the first history of Christianity that was written in the early 70's AD and is in the New Testament, concludes with the apostle Paul preaching in Rome. Many commentators have noted that in many ways the book of Acts is being added to by every generation of Christians. Their deeds are remembered in church history and especially are remembered by God. Second, the New Testament concludes with the book of Revelation. It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ regarding the future, His future and His plans to complete redemption for all humanity and the earth.
